The hobby that temporarily disables your awareness
Gaming is a hobby that most people have, especially the youth of the modern era. It is a fun way to spend your downtime and enjoy yourself, free from the shackles of reality, be someone else in an entirely different world.

But, gaming can also be detrimental. It can become an addiction that is very difficult to get over once you really plunge down into it.
Why would it be detrimental?
You see, it's detrimental precisely because of time wasted. Gaming can make you forget what time it is, especially if its a very immersive experience, where the video game seems to pull you into the world and make you feel like you're living inside it. Or if its a competitive video game, where all your focus needs to be on the game and it alone to have the best chance of winning.
Gaming can also be detrimental due to muscle wasting. Muscle wasting occurs when your muscles aren't utilized for a long period of time, and due to this, your muscles lose strength and mass. And guess what happens when you're gaming. That's right, you're sitting down for a very long period of time over days.
Gaming may also cause carpal tunnel, where your forearm feels tingly or painful due to repeated motions, such as clicking a mouse.
How do I prevent it?
Remember that everything should be motivation. Give yourself a time limit to gaming, and never go over that time limit. Moderation is key.
